Born in Middlesex in the mid 60’s, my interest in photography began when I was about 5 years old and I used to watch my father develop his photographs at home in his dark room under the stairs. I would be there watching him with his row of chemical trays developing the film and amazed as the images came to life.
In the early 90’s I purchased the Vivitar mega 100. It was a neat little camera but it getting tedious having to get the photos developed as fewer places seemed to be developing film. My first digital camera was the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1, an 8.1mp camera. This was a great little camera and I still have it to this day.
My next digital camera I purchased was a Nikon P500 bridge camera. This was a 12mp bridge camera with a 36x zoom lens. By this time I had an interest in classic cars and photographing them at classic car shows. I was also getting more interest in photographing landscapes and for me, the P500 was lacking.
In 2018, I bought the Nikon D5300 which came with a 18-55mm A-SF kit lens.
The first lens I purchased for the D5300 was a Sigma 70-300mm macro lens which was ok but the quality was not the best but for £100 new, you can’t expect too much.
My next lens a Nikon 35mm prime lens  and a 10-20mm wide angle lens. These are excellent lenses although I don't use them as much as I like.
I also purchased a Nikkor 18-300mm lens which became my main lens as it was so adaptable.
I was still shooting classic cars and landscapes but when I joined a photography club, my photography stepped up another level.
I also did some model shooting and got into street photography along with other genres such as wildlife and woodland.
In January 2022, I treated myself to the Nikon Z7ii. I bought the body only and purchased the 24-200mm F4 Z mount lens.
My main interest is still photographing landscapes, however, I will photograph anything really.
I am really enjoying using the Z7ii, and with this camera, my journey continues……….
